ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY                                  Therapy Dog – Kobe

We have a lovely Spoodle, who is a trained Therapy Dog working at My Tribe. Kobe loves nothing more than a pat or a cuddle, to sit in his bed and watch your child play or to interact with even the most nervous little person. The benefits of Animal-assisted therapy for children, particularly with Anxiety is well documented and we are so proud and grateful to have Kobe at our practice. Contact us for more information about walk and talk therapy or home based visits.

Why My Tribe?

Well, I guess you could say since my PhD studies, I have been drawn to the idea of everyone needing connection, a community, a group of people to feel fulfilled and thrive.
I was lucky enough to be part of a wonderful, loving family who still to this day are my best friends and greatest supports. I now have my own family (including 4 children and a wonderful husband) whom are my own little tribe. I aim every day to help them know that they are loved, that they are valued and accepted for who they are within our family tribe.
Setting the Emotional Tone of your family is key. Laughing, crying, playing, talking, even arguing together all helps build a shared dialogue, a story or narrative about your family Tribe.

You, as parents set the scene; the accepted values and visions and hopes of your family. Your children may ebb and flow towards you for support and away as they grow and develop. Other members of your extended family, your close friends and people around you also shape your tribe. A key developmental milestone of adolescence is for the teen to find themselves, their identity as separate from their parents, to become more independent and find friends who accept them unconditionally.   I want to help you and your family come together and laugh more and thrive. That is my philosophy and reason for creating My Tribe Family Psychology.

It means we consider every individual’s psychological health intimately tied to your family, your community = Your tribe!
